Catholic Church wants to see Christians in business sector, Abp Sebastian Shaw

Sialkot (Asif Nazir): A 18 members business delegation led by Mr. Stephan, Coordinator of United Business Alliance met His Grace Archbishop Sebastian Francis Shaw, Archbishop of Lahore on March 05, 2017 at Bethania Hospital, Sialkot to discuss some business issues.

“Catholic Church in Pakistan would like Christian community in Pakistan to equally contribute in the country’s development spurring the economy and creating jobs. As the Pakistani government is committed to creating a business environment benefitting both investors and the people of Pakistan by improving infrastructure and rule of law, Catholic Church hope to see our Christian Community to move forward in business sector” said Archbishop Sebastian Francis Shaw.

Christian CEO business elites from Trading, Retail/Trade, Surgical, Sports, Financial Industry & others graced the event.

Sialkot is a city in, and the administrative headquarters for, Sialkot District, located in the north-east of the Punjab, Pakistan. Sialkot is Pakistan’s 12th most populous city.

Sialkot is the world’s largest producer of hand-sewed footballs, with local factories manufacturing 40~60 million footballs a year, amounting to roughly 70% of world production. There is a well-applied child labour ban, the Atlanta Agreement, in the industry since a 1997 outcry. As of 2015, Sialkot exported US$2 billion worth of goods which is equal to 9% of Pakistan’s total exports (US$22 billion).
