St. Elizabeth Parish hosts impactful Advent preparation seminar

On 15 November 2025, the Joti Center Team (Catechetical Center, Hyderabad) organized a spiritually enriching Advent Preparation Seminar under the theme “Come, Lord Jesus.” The event, graciously hosted by St. Elizabeth Parish, Latifabad, gathered faithful from various communities for a day of reflection, learning, and renewed spiritual commitment as the Church enters the sacred season of Advent.

The seminar was held at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Latifabad #06, Hyderabad, where participants from multiple parish communities came together in unity. Representatives from the Immaculate Conception Parish, Kotri—including both Kachi and Punjabi communities—attended the session with great enthusiasm. Catechism teachers from St. John Elementary School, St. Bonaventure High School (City Branch), St. Mary’s Convent School, Hyderabad, and Khatoon-e-Sullah School, Latifabad**, also took part, alongside selected members from various parish groups. Their presence reflected a shared desire for deeper understanding and preparation for the coming of Christ.

The organizing team extended heartfelt gratitude to all school heads, parish leaders, and coordinators for their support. Special appreciation was expressed for Fr. Tomas King, Director of the Joti Center, Mirpurkhas, as well as Sir Azeem and Fr. Francis Anwer, whose dedication and willingness to travel to St. Elizabeth Parish made the program possible and impactful.

A significant moment of the seminar was led by Fr. Jamil Albert OFM, who guided the congregation in special prayers for world peace. He offered heartfelt intercessions particularly for Christians in Nigeria, reminding participants of the global body of Christ and the call to stand in solidarity with persecuted brothers and sisters.

The “Come, Lord Jesus” Advent seminar not only prepared the faithful spiritually but also strengthened the bonds among different parish communities, catechists, and educators. As the season of Advent approaches, the participants returned to their parishes renewed in faith, united in hope, and ready to welcome the Lord with open hearts.
