Bishop Rufin Anthony laid to rest

Rawalpindi: Funeral Mass of His Lordship Bishop Rufin Anthony was presided over by His Lordship Bishop Joseph Arshad from Faisalabad Diocese on October 19, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Cathedral, Rawalpindi. Con-celebrant of the Mass were His Grace Archbishop Ghaleb Moussa Abdalla Bader, Apostolic Nuncio to Pakistan with His Lordship Bishop Benny Mariao Traves from Multan, His Lordship Bishop Samson Shukardin from Hyderabad.

“Bishop Rufin offered the whole of his life as a wonderful witness to Jesus Christ. He devoted his priestly and Episcopal ministry to reach out especially to young persons” said Fr. Nasir William, Diocesan Director of Social Communications.
“The people of this Diocese will surely testify of his love for humanity and his great enthusiasm for the Gospel of Jesus Christ” he concluded.

About 200 Priests from all over Pakistan and Large number of Religious nuns and Brother 5000 Faithful were Present in the Funeral Mass.

Bishop Anthony was ordained as a priest in 1969, and was ordained as a bishop in 2009. He became bishop for Islamabad-Rawalpindi in 2010. He was also the Secretary of Catholic Bishops Conference of Pakistan and Chairmen of Catholic Youth Commission.
