CCK launches Archbishop Pinto’s book “Meeting Jesus in John”

Karachi: There was great excitement in the audience gathered in St. Patrick’s High School last Saturday where the most prolific and eminent author Archbishop Emeritus Evarist Pinto added yet another exciting volume to his impressive list of books.

Colloquially entitled ‘Meeting Jesus in John’, was launched on February 25, 2017. It is the Thirty-second book by Archbishop Evarist Pinto.

The launch was organised by the Catechetical Centre, Karachi. It was attended by prominent members of clergy, the religious and the lay faithful. Archbishop Evarist Pinto was joined by people and friends to celebrate this very significant milestone. The new book caused a stir as its informative content and glossy look, emerged from beneath a beautiful wrapped cover. Published by Catechetical Centre Karachi, the publication is a thorough study and reflection on the Fourth Gospel.

Fr. Samuel Raphael OP and Mr. Shemeem Khursheed, Principal St. Patrick’s College launched the latest book. Both of them congratulated Archbishop Emeritus Evarist Pinto on yet another milestone in his very long and distinguished career as an academician, writer and a person who has made tremendous contribution in extending the boundaries of biblical knowledge to a sizeable number of people.

In his introduction, Fr. Samuel Raphael OP said, “it gives me great pleasure to be with you all to launch this magnificent book.” He did not only provide a concise and historical perspective on the book, but also emphasized the character behind the man everyone knew as Archbishop Evarist Pinto. He described him as “gifted with a clarity of vision”.

Fr. Samuel Raphael OP also gave intensive descriptions of the outline, content, practical and terse review of the book. “Meeting Jesus in John is deep, insightful and piercing, yet writing flows with breezy simplicity. The book is in fact very readable and fascinating. I am certain that it is one that everyone will truly enjoy and value,” observed Fr. Raphael OP.

Archbishop Emeritus Evarist Pinto thanked Fr. Arthur Charles for publishing the book. He also appealed to the audience develop a reading culture.

“The event was a tremendous success. Hundreds of people came out in support of the occasion and it really was fantastic,” beamed Fr. Arthur Charles as he spoke to the people gathered around him.

The Book is available to purchase in the Bookshop of the Daughters of St. Paul and from CCK. It is a wonderful gift idea for family and friends during this Holy and Grace-filled Season.
