Embrace Catholic faith and serve with devotion, Bishop Khalid

Quetta: On the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord in the Temple on February 2nd, 2024, Deacon Vishal Haris OFM of the Apostolic Vicariate of Quetta was ordained as a priest at St. Pius Seminary, Quetta by His Excellency Bishop Khalid Rehmat OFM Cap. Bishop Khalid presided over the Holy Mass, joined by the clergy of the Vicariate and a significant number of faithful attended the Holy Mass with genuine religious fervor.




The readings during the Mass included passages from the Book of Malachi 3:1-4, Hebrews 4:14-18, and the Gospel of St. Luke, chapter 2.

In his homily, Bishop Khalid expressed joy and gratitude for the occasion, extending appreciation to God, the family of Dr. Vishal, the entire Vicariate and the province of Baluchistan. He also honored the contributions of Franciscan clergy who served in Baluchistan.

Reflecting on the significance of the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord in the Temple, Bishop Khalid highlighted the commitment of clergy and the religious to their vows and mission. He offered counsel to Fr. Vishal, urging him to uphold Catholic faith, emulate the example of St. Francis of Assisi by leading a simple and humble life and prioritize serving the community.

Bishop Khalid emphasized the importance of continual learning and faithful celebration of the Holy Sacraments. He reminded Fr. Vishal of his role as a custodian of Catholic faith, teaching, history, and tradition, encouraging him to preach with humility, bringing hope, happiness, and spiritual enlightenment to the people.

About newly Ordained Priest

Fr. Vishal Haris was born on June 02, 1993, in Quetta. He received his early education at St. Francis Grammar School and completed his Matriculation at Don Bosco High School. His journey in seminary education began on August 21st, 2012, at St. Francis Seminary. He professed his Simple Vows on August 1st, 2015, and his Perpetual Vows on August 3rd, 2022. Additionally, he was ordained as a Deacon on August 3rd, 2022, by His Grace Archbishop Benny Mario Travas of the Archdiocese of Karachi.
