Farewell party for Apostolic Nuncio at Holy See Embassy Islamabad

Islamabad: A Farewell party for Apostolic Nuncio at Holy See Embassy Islamabad was held on September 11, 2017. Two Archbishops and two bishops of Pakistan along with Clergy and Religious of Roman Catholic Diocese of Islamabad/ Rawalpindi were presented there.

Pope Francis has appointed Archbishop Ghaleb Bader, currently apostolic nuncio in Pakistan as apostolic nuncio in the Dominican Republic and apostolic delegate in Puerto Rico.

Archbishop Ghaleb Moussa Abdallah Bader born on 22 July 1951 in Khirbeh, Jordan) is the Jordanian-born Apostolic Nuncio to Pakistan and titular Archbishop of Mathara in Numidia since 2015. From 2008 to 2015 he was the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Algiers.

Ghaleb Bader was appointed Archbishop of Algiers by Pope Benedict XVI on 24 May 2008, replacing Bishop Henri Teissier, and consecrated bishop by the patriarch Fouad Twal, assisted by patriarch Michel Sabbah and Henri Tessier on 17 June 2008 in the church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Jordan.

Archbishop Bader was consulter to Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue from 1996 to 2001.

On May 23, 2015 his Holiness Pope Francis appointed Archbishop Ghaleb Moussa Abdalla Bader as Titular Archbishop of Mathara in Numidia and Apostolic Nuncio to Pakistan.
