In his homily, Archbishop Sebastian Francis Shaw reflected on the significance of the sisters’ profession, emphasizing the choice between materiality and spirituality. He encouraged the congregation to be inspired by the sisters’ example and to embrace the path of spirituality, which requires surrender, trust, and courage, but brings true freedom and joy.

“As we witness the profession of vows today, let us remember that our lives are not our own, but a gift from God. May we, like Sr. Saima Preetum and Sr. Sumaira Yousaf, surrender our will to His, and trust in His plan for our lives. May we be inspired by their example to live a life of radical love, selfless service, and unwavering dedication to our Lord. Let us pray for these sisters, that they may continue to be guided by the Holy Spirit, and that their vows may be a source of strength and inspiration to all who know them. And let us pray for ourselves, that we may be encouraged by their witness to deepen our own commitment to God, and to follow Him with courage, trust, and joy.”

Sr. Marian Pereira, Superior of the Good Shepherd Sisters’ Congregation, received the vows from Sr. Saima Preetum and Sr. Sumaira Yousaf, symbolizing their lifelong commitment to God and their dedication to serving others with love and healing. This momentous occasion marked a significant milestone in the lives of the two sisters, and the congregation joined in celebrating their commitment to God and their vocation. May God bless Sr. Saima Preetum, Sr. Sumaira Yousaf, and all those on their spiritual journeys!
