Formation Program for Young Priests Concludes in Murree

Murree: From June 23rd to June 27th, 2025, Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Pindi Point, Murree, hosted an annual formation program for young priests from various dioceses in Pakistan. The program aimed to provide spiritual growth, knowledge, and networking opportunities for the young clergy.




On the first day, Fr Patrick Samuel OFM Cap welcomed the participants and introduced the program. The responsibility for the second day’s sessions was assigned to the Islamabad/Rawalpindi Diocese and Hyderabad Diocese. Bishop Indrias Rehmat delivered a keynote speech on “Evangelization in Pakistan,” followed by group discussions and a Holy Mass.

On the third day, Fr. Mahboob Everest OFM Cap spoke about “God’s Gift and its Challenges in the Present Time.” The Archdiocese of Karachi and Apostolic Vicariate of Quetta took charge of the sessions, featuring discussions on “Collaboration and Cooperation: Key Sources for Priests” and “Transparency, Administration, and Financial Management in the Church.”

The fourth day’s sessions were led by the Archdiocese of Lahore, with Archbishop Dr. Joseph Arshad discussing the role of priests in the diocese and parish. Fr. Qaiser Feroz OFM Cap spoke about the challenges of social media and digital media in priestly life.

The program concluded on its final day, led by the Diocese of Multan, with a session on “Time Management, Stress Management, and Health Care.” The participants expressed gratitude to God through a solemn Eucharistic celebration on the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Throughout the program, the young priests engaged in meaningful discussions, prayer, and fellowship, enriching their spiritual journey and ministerial skills. The event provided a valuable opportunity for them to share experiences, learn from one another, and strengthen their commitment to serving the Church in Pakistan.
