St. Michael’s Parish Karachi Hosts Holy Childhood Celebration
Karachi: On 14th May 2024, St. Michael’s Parish in Karachi, hosted a special Holy Childhood program at St. Barnabas Catholic School. The event, organized by the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) of the Archdiocese of Karachi, brought together students and teachers for a day of spiritual reflection and celebration.
The program began with prayers and reflections on the mission of Jesus Christ. In his message, Fr. Afzal Gulfam emphasized that all individuals are called to be missionaries, following in the footsteps of Jesus. He highlighted three key aspects: sacrifice, light, and carrying one’s cross. Fr. Afzal encouraged the students to offer their lives as a sacrifice to God, to shine as lights in the world, and to bear the cross of Christ, just as Jesus did.

The PMS team engaged the children in a question-and-answer session, rewarding those who answered correctly with gifts. This interactive element added a fun and educational dimension to the program.
In his concluding remarks, Fr. Afzal expressed his gratitude to the school principal, staff, and students for their participation and enthusiasm. A memorable group photo with the children brought the event to a close.

The Holy Childhood program serves as a reminder of the importance of nurturing faith and spirituality in young minds. By instilling values of sacrifice, compassion, and service, the program aims to inspire the next generation of leaders and disciples of Christ.
Through such initiatives, the Pontifical Mission Societies and St. Michael’s Parish continue to foster a sense of community and spiritual growth among the youth, empowering them to become beacons of hope and love in their own communities.
