Faisalabad (Fr. Younas Shahzad): On 8th August the Holy Rosary Parish Warispura Faisalabad celebrated the feast of St. Dominic de Guzman (1170AD-1221AD) with great zeal and zest.
St. Dominic Founded the Order of Preachers “the Dominicans”. He was a great preacher, a fervent missionary and defender of the true teaching of the Catholic Church against Albigensian Heresy.
Fr. Pascal Paulus OP, the Prior Vice provincial presided over the Eucharistic Liturgy. During the mass 20 Lay Dominican aspirant started their novitiate, 8 members made their first profession, 8 renewed and 11 made their Solemn Profession. It is worth mentioning that Holy Rosary Parish was established by a Dominican Friar Fr. Pinto in 1971 and is administered by the Dominican Friars who live in the Holy Rosary Priory.
In this parish lay Dominican Vocations are very much flourishing. At present there are existing Holy Rosary Chapter of the male Lay Dominicans, St. Catherine’s Group, St. Rose of Lima Chapter whereas in near future there is about to come up another group Ibn-e-Mariam Chapter. May we all continue preaching and liveing the gospel like St. Dominic.
