Karachi Archdiocese lost a good catechist, Fr. Shahzad
Karachi (Master Younis Rahi): On July 11, 2023, the funeral rites of Master Emmanuel Bhatti took place at St. Anthony Church, Manora. Holy Mass was presided over by Fr. Anthony Abraz while Fr. Gill Shahzad OFM and Fr. Bhuro Mongo OFM was con-celebrant. The solemn event brought together mourners from near and far to pay their respects to a man who had left an indelible mark on the Catholic community of Karachi.

Master Emmanuel Bhatti’s journey began from Khanewal, a renowned Railway Junction in Pakistan. Driven by a desire for a better future, he relocated to Karachi and pursued a government job. Despite the demands of his career, Master Emmanuel Bhatti remained rooted in his Catholic faith, a testament to the values instilled in him by his parents.
His sincere devotion led him to become an integral part of St. Anthony’s Chapel, Manora. He remained actively involved in the Church and the choir. He eagerly contributed to the preparation of children’s First Holy Communion. Through his unwavering dedication and commitment, Master Emmanuel Bhatti garnered respect and a special place in the hearts of the parishioners.
Master Emmanuel Bhatti’s faith was rewarded by God when he found a life partner in the Holy Sacrament of Matrimony. Together, they embarked on a beautiful journey, blessed with the joy of children.
With a change in his church affiliation, Master Emmanuel Bhatti was presented with an opportunity to serve at St. Francis Parish, Karachi. Embracing this new chapter, he continued to dedicate his time and energy to the service of others. His selflessness and passion for his faith made a lasting impact on the lives he touched.
Final Days and Eternal Peace
In the twilight of his life, Master Emmanuel Bhatti found solace and purpose at St. Anthony Parish and Sacred Heart Church, Kemari-Karachi. Remaining steadfast in his commitment until his last breath, he faithfully served his Creator and Savior, Jesus Christ.
