Always Remain Committed to Spreading the Gospel, Abp. Joseph

Murree: The Islamabad-Rawalpindi Diocese’s Catechists Commission organized a Annual Refresher Course from June 17-21, 2024, at Our Lady of Sorrow Catholic Church, Pindi Point-Murree. The event, directed by Fr. David John and Secretary Babu Arif Gill, brought together catechists from across the diocese for spiritual rejuvenation and skill enhancement.

Over the four days, renowned speakers delivered insightful sessions on various topics. On the third day, Mrs. Saiqa Faryad spoke on the role of evangelists in Christian education, while Fr. Asif John discussed Pontifical Mission Societies. Mr. Faryad Francis shared his thoughts on the challenges and opportunities in contemporary missionary work, and Fr. David John moderated the session.

On the second day, Fr. Qaisar Feroz OFM Cap and Fr. Azam Sadique OFM Cap spoke on the role of catechists in parish administration and the importance of missionary work in the Church. Fr. David John addressed the catechists on their role in parish administration.

The first day featured sessions by Fr. Sarfraz Simon and Fr. Mehboob Evarist OFM Cap on the role of catechists in evangelization and their services in the Church.

The program culminated with a Holy Mass presided over by His Grace Archbishop Dr. Joseph Arshad on June 21, 2024. In his address, the Archbishop encouraged the catechists to remain committed to their vital role in spreading the Gospel.

The Annual Refresher Course was a resounding success, empowering catechists to continue their mission with renewed enthusiasm and dedication. The event’s success was attributed to the efforts of Fr. David John, Fr. Emmanuel OP, and the entire organizing team.
