It is time to become new born creation in the Holy Spirit, Abp. Joseph Coutts

Karachi (Fr. Bernard Younas OFM): It was immense joy and blessing for St Philip’s Parish Karachi Pakistan. 365 children were sealed in the Sacrament of Confirmation, by His Grace Archbishop Joseph Coutts.

A large gathering was present to witness the historical event of the parish. After great and intense preparation in the all the areas of the parish, ultimately children were able to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.

His grace, gave a life-giving homily on this occasion. He said that the mother Church welcome all the children who are about to receive the seal of the Holy Spirit.

He added that without the Holy Spirit the church and her faithful cannot live their lives in God the Father and his son Jesus Christ. It is the Holy Spirit which gives us the courage to live the catholic Christian life in God the Father.

“Now you are sealed with the Holy Spirit, it is time to change and to become new born creation in the Holy Spirit. It is time to give time to God through Holy Mass and prayer. You are beloved children of God that is why, you all are receiving the seal of the Holy Spirit”, he continued.

“It is time to become the light, to enlighten ourselves and others through the mark of the Holy Spirit.
He also gave practical examples to all the faithful, saying that we all are the branches and Jesus is Vine, we need to be attached to him, in him and have to stay with him only than we all can bear fruits”.

“Do remember whoever we are, whatever we are, we are loved by God that is why he is giving us the seal of the Holy Spirit”, he emphasized.
“Fruits, given to us by the Holy Spirit are living our lives in wisdom of God. We need to understand others, respecting others, help others, the needy and the poor, in our own capacities so that we become the instrumental witness of Christ’s love and care”, he ended.

At the end Father Bernard Bhatti OFM thanked His Grace Archbishop Joseph Coutts for his time and giving the Sacrament of Confirmation to his parish children.

He also thanked all priests, pastoral team for their hard work in preparing the children for their Sacrament.
