We must promote dialogue between the families, Archbishop Sebastian Francis Shaw

Gujranwala (Asif Nazir): 5th two days Annual Marian Convention was held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Gujranwala on October 26-27, 2019. The biggest event of the Parish with more than 3500 faithful believers attended this event.

The organizer of this program was the highly devoted and enthusiastic priest in Archdiocese of Lahore Rev. Fr. Samran Anwar, Parish Priest of St. Joseph’s Parish, Gujranwala. Fr. Samran was assisted by Rev. Fr. Abid Albert, the Pastoral team and Youth Groups of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Gujranwala. The organizers and youth groups worked with devotion, under the zealous leadership of Fr. Samran Anwar, to make this program a success.

First day, October 26 was started with the recitation of the Holy Rosary. The Holy Mass was presided over by His Grace Archbishop Sebastian Francis Shaw, Archbishop of Lahore, who was assisted by Rev. Fr. Samran Anwar, Parish Priest and Rev. Fr. Abid Albert, Assistant Priest and Rev. Fr. Tariq George from St. Mark Parish. Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Ahmed from St. Francis Xavier Parish, Gujranwala and Rev. Fr. Faisal Pervaiz from Sialkot were the Guest priest attended the event on the first day. St. Joseph’s singing choir, Gujranwala assist in singing during the Holy Mass.

In his homily Bishop Shaw said, “Dialogue is a key for good environment in a family relations and a major factor in raising positive children”.
He explained the importance of dialogue with a motivational story of a Catholic family “Peter and Josephine”. In the story he told “Peter and Josephine decided to solve each of their family issues by a dialogue. When they have any conflict or issue they prefer to solve via dialogue with each other”.

Archbishop Shaw explained, “The year 2019 is declared as the Year of Dialogue. We must promote dialogue between individuals, spouses, families, communities, and people of different religions will bring new hope and love. There must not by any communication gap between the children and parents”, he concluded.
In his closing remarks Archbishop appreciated Rev. Fr. Samran Anwar who is newly appointed as Parish Priest in Gujranwala and all the pastoral team for organizing the convention.
