The Path of Priesthood Is Service and Purity, Archbishop Benny

Lahore (Br. Raja Sarwar): Archbishop Benny Mario Travas’ visited St. Mary’s Minor Seminary, Lahore, on 25th July 2025, was a meaningful and memorable occasion. Accompanied by Fr. Asif Sardar, Vicar General of the Lahore Archdiocese, Archbishop Travas engaged in a thought-provoking session with the seminarians on “The Call of Holiness in Priesthood.”




During his address, Archbishop Travas emphasized that a priest’s vocation is complete only when he meets people with obedience, chastity, and spirituality. Citing Canon 273, he highlighted the importance of obedience, stating that a priest should be obedient to his bishop, just as Jesus was obedient to his earthly parents.

Key Aspects of Spirituality

Archbishop Travas stressed the significance of several key aspects of spirituality, including, reciting the “Divine Office” regularly, making “Meditation Prayers” a part of daily life and cultivating devotion to the “Blessed Virgin Mary”

By embracing these practices, priests can strengthen their spirituality and serve others more effectively.

Holy Mass and Reflection

The visit included a Holy Mass, presided over by Archbishop Travas and concelebrated by Fr. Asif Sardar, Fr. Naqash Azam, and Fr. Aamir Yaqoob.

In his homily, Archbishop Travas reflected on the life of St. James the Apostle, emphasizing the importance of dedicating one’s life to the mission of Christ. After the Mass, Br. Dawood Arif expressed gratitude to Archbishop Travas, Fr. Asif Sardar, Fr. Naqash Azam & Fr. Aamir Yaqoob for providing a spiritual and enriching environment.

The visit was a significant moment for the seminarians, providing them with valuable insights into the importance of spirituality in their future priestly lives.
