Archbishop Benny Confirms Faith of Young Catholics in Karachi
Karachi: St. Philip’s Parish in Karachi hosted a significant event on 20th July 2025, as 170 children received the Sacrament of Confirmation from Archbishop Benny Mario Travas, Archbishop of Karachi Archdiocese. The parish’s pastoral team worked tirelessly to prepare the children for this important milestone in their spiritual journey.
The event began with a warm welcome for Archbishop Travas, who was greeted by the parishioners, school children, teachers, and the confirmation candidates. The children from St. Mary’s School, St. John’s School, and St. Philip’s School presented the Archbishop with traditional Ajrak, Sindhi caps, and garlands of flowers.

As the Archbishop proceeded to the church, the children and parishioners showered him with flags and flower petals. The confirmation candidates then participated in the Holy Mass, which was a significant part of the sacrament.
In his message, Archbishop Travas expressed his gratitude to the priests, brothers, catechists, children, and parishioners for their hard work and dedication in preparing for the sacrament. He emphasized the importance of the Sacrament of Confirmation, which strengthens one’s faith and empowers individuals to live a life of service and devotion.
The Archbishop encouraged the confirmation candidates to embrace the gifts of the Holy Spirit and to live out their faith with courage and conviction. He also urged them to actively participate in the parish’s various groups and to serve others with love and compassion.
The children presented the Archbishop with gifts and bouquets, while the parish’s 13 regions presented him with garlands and tokens of appreciation. The parish priest, Fr. Shahid Boota, expressed his gratitude to the parishioners, catechists, and teachers for their tireless efforts in preparing the children for the sacrament.
