Marian Pilgrimage Concludes at St. Michael’s Parish Karachi

Karachi (Master Mushtaq Sabir): St. Michael Parish witnessed a historic two-day pilgrimage to Holy Mary on 7th & 8th September 2024, a first-of-its-kind event in the parish’s history. Previously, the pilgrimage was held for only one day.

The pilgrimage commenced with the Rosary prayer and coronation ceremony on the first day, led by Fr. Barnabas George. This was followed by a solemn Mass, presided over by Fr. Dawood Javed, and a sermon by Reverend Father Paul Gul.

In his homily, Father Gul emphasized the significance of Holy Mary as the Mother of God, highlighting that Jesus Christ, the Incarnate Word, has two natures – human and divine. He stressed that Mary’s role as the Mother of Jesus makes her the Mother of God.

The day concluded with a healing prayer session led by Father Gul, followed by a gesture of gratitude from the faithful, who presented him with traditional Sindhi gifts.

The second day began with the Rosary prayer and coronation ceremony. The Mass was presided over by Fr. Barnabas George, and the homily was delivered by Fr. Anthony Abraz.

Father Abraz’s homily focused on the inseparable bond between Holy Mary and Jesus Christ, emphasizing that Mary’s purity and immaculateness made her the perfect vessel for the Incarnation.

The pilgrimage concluded with a musical program dedicated to Holy Mary, and Fr. Barnabas George expressed gratitude to all participants, donors, and volunteers.

This historic event marked a significant milestone in the spiritual journey of St. Michael Parish, fostering a deeper devotion to Holy Mary and promoting unity among the faithful.
