Sri Lanka: Sacerdotal Silver Jubilee of three Priests including one serving in Pakistan

Jaffna (Fr. Renard Remindran): Three priests including Fr. Renard Remindran, OMI from Apostolic Vicariate of Quetta-Pakistan marked the “Silver Jubilee” of their ordination to priesthood with a solemn Eucharistic celebration on 23rd of February 2020 at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Jaffna, Sri Lanka.

The Jubilee Celebration took place at St. Benedict’s Church, Nallur, Jaffna, Sri Lanka on the 23rd of February 2020. The three priests namely, Fr. Stanislaus Swampillai OMI, Fr. Ravichandran and Fr. Renard Remindran, OMI Who were ordained together on the same day, were welcomed along with the other priests and nuns by the people of that parish.

The Holy Eucharist was celebrated mainly by the three Jubilarians. The homily was delivered by Rev. Fr. Jeevendera Paul, OMI. In his homily he emphasized, “The Missionaries came to our country in order to strengthen our Faith, so we should be ready to go as Missionary where there is a need”.

“Once we commit ourselves to God’s Mission we should not worry about the place & the Mission. Wherever we are sent, we have to work for God’s Mission and we should also understand that everything is moving according to the will of God” he continued.

“We must own the Church and follow the instructions or norms given by the Church and carry on the Mission of Christ that is entrusted to us through different responsibilities. The time has come to take God’s Message to others through our own life. So, don’t limit yourselves with the ecclesiastical education but get enrolled also with the secular studies like the other ordinary people. Try to enrol yourselves in different institutions according to your qualification, work with the people and give God’s Message to others with whom you are working” he ended

After the Holy Eucharist the all three priests were honoured and breakfast was served for all.

Profile of Fr. Renard Remindran:

Fr. Renard was born on December 11, 1967. The Ordination to the Priesthood of Fr. Renard Remindran OMI was took place 23rd February 1995 at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Jaffna, Sri Lanka and he started his services in Pakistan on the 11th of May 1997.
He completed Licentiate in Canon Law from GREGORIAN UNIVERSITY, Rome, Italy in 2011.
LL. B from University of Law College, Quetta, Pakistan in 2015 and LL. M from University of Law College, Quetta, Pakistan in 2018.
